Netflix has now become the fourth major television network. People all over are subscribed to their streaming and get to watch thousands of movies, original and established television shows and more. Netflix is so huge that there’s no stopping it but is it all it’s cracked up to be?
No. Not by a long shot.
Netflix makes its money with subscriptions and rentals. This where the problem and inconvenience arises. The streaming option appears as though you can just waltz in there and watch top recent box office hits and misses with the click of a mouse. No way Jose.
The streaming content for movies basically sucks. It’s got a handful of top recent movies and then a huge assortment of movies you can get at the 10 cent DVD bin at the local flea market. In order to get the best of the best you have to subscribe to their shipping DVD option which is an additional amount of money.
Streaming sucks for movies you say?
Yes.
There weren’t even any master classics like Alien or the Star Wars films. Sometimes these movies may appear but for brief times and not with the other films in the series. You might see Alien but then might want to watch the subsequent films to catch up on the franchise. No luck buddy. Now you’re left with having to buy a subscription to their DVD mailing option and not even sure if the movies you want are in their archive.
This ploy makes Netflix leave a bad taste in one’s mouth. Sure it’s not that expensive but things could be handled much better. Don’t lead people on and then make the situation call for people to have to buy an additional subscription or both at once in a package.
Overall, Netflix does a great job and is a major alternative to television but is still not the friendly operation it could be.
